When
Your Spouse is a Military Member
If your spouse is in the military
and he or she is willing to sign the divorce papers,
the process isn't any different than a regular no
fault divorce. An extra waiver form will be necessary
and will be included in your package.
Back in 1941 a law was passed
to protect military members from being divorced while
they were away on deployment. This is called the Sailors
and Soliders Relief Act. This simply means that if
your spouse is not willing to sign the divorce papers,
he or she must be served differently than a civilian
person.
If You Are a Military Member
If you are a military member
looking to get divorced, the procedure is not any
different for you than a regular uncontested divorce.
